The After-Hours program has successfully provided more than 50 adult hockey teams with an unforgettable hockey experience that takes place on Pepsi Center ice after select Avalanche games. The program was created in the summer of 2007, while preparing for our first season of unique interactive programs.

In order for your youth or adult teams to be able to set up an After-Hours game, you will need to choose an Avalanche home game in which you can sell at least 100 tickets total. If your group includes two hockey teams, it would be the same as selling 50 tickets per team. The tickets are available at an exclusive Guild group discount, which allows you to provide everyone in your group, including their family, friends and co-workers with the opportunity to join you in the After-Hours experience!

Once you’ve been de-briefed by our Avalanche representative and covered the 100 ticket requirement, the real fun begins! The entire group is treated like royalty from that exact moment, as we prepare you for the hockey experience of a lifetime.

We advance and enhance your After-Hours experience by working with the group captain(s) to not only host and manage the entire event, but promote the event throughout Colorado as well.

Our promotions work in two different stages. First of all, we help teams reach their ticket requirement total by promoting the game in our weekly newsletters and through our website and radio programming. Since anyone in your circle of friends can take advantage of the Guild discount, the more people that is part of your group, the more tickets you’ll sell. And since The Avalanche Guild is one big happy family, we are all about helping each other!

Once your game night is secured with the Avalanche, we’ll take care of just about everything else. From the moment you drop-off your equipment to the moment you walk out of the building, we make sure that your experience is totally flawless. Simply put, we’ll set your group up with everything needed to have an enjoyable and memorable night. Whether it’s a couple of extra water bottles or a special ticket request, we have you covered.

When the sun rises on your After-Hours game day, it’s time for us to roll out the red carpet. Everything from your team (or company’s) logo on the jumbotron, to roster and goal announcements made over the PA system, the night is yours for the taking. We’ll provide the referee, a professional photographer, the Pepsi Center ice, the lights, the music and the scorekeeping. You bring the fans and provide the entertainment!

The day of an After-Hours game begins with a phone call early in the afternoon from a Guild representative. We’ll go over all the details of your game and make sure all of your questions are answered. You’ll have direct access to us in case anything comes up and we stress to all team captains that players should try to arrive early and together in order to drop off equipment in a timely fashion, leaving you more time to share libations before the night’s activities begin.

Arrive at Pepsi Center
5:15p – 5:30p
Players need to try and arrive no later than 5:30p in order to drop off their equipment and check in for the night. All players should enter through the Group Entrance double-doors on the far right side of the west (main) entrance. Once inside, we will take all of your gear, store it and show you where to meet everyone when the Avalanche game ends.

Pre-Game Meeting
6:00p – 7:00p
We work with group leaders to set up a group reservation at a downtown restaurant. We can get as involved as you’d like for whatever you need. Either way, we’ll be there to make sure things happen smoothly! If you just want to head to your seats upon arrival, you are almost always allowed to enter the arena early.

Avalanche Game
7:00p – 9:45p
As soon as the final horn sounds and the Avs game ends, players should report directly to the main atrium and meet your group leader just outside the Altitude Authentics store, just inside the main entrance. That is where you will rondevue with The Avalanche Guild and the rest of your crew!

After-Hours Game Prep
10:00p – 10:15p
All players that are dressed for the game must have a signed waiver form to hand us before they can hit the ice. So once the Avs game is over, the players and fans will be escorted to the dressing rooms and stands. The players will be handed a waiver sheet and we’ll have 15-20 minutes to get dressed and fill out waiver forms. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to move fast and be ready. Every minute on the ice counts!!

After-Hours Game
~10:15p – 11:15p
Let the fun begin. Hit the ice and start warming up as we set up the scoreboard, PA system and the music. The clock starts ticking right away, so we keep the warmup to 5:00 minutes. Games include two 15-minute run periods plus a 12-minute stopped third period. Games that end in a tie will go to a quick 5-man shootout. Please be mindful that the ice staff is staying late to service our needs, so as soon as the game is over, please be prompt getting off the ice!

The first After-Hours game was held after the Avalanche hosted the Oilers on November 28, 2007. Turns out we had enough hockey players within a group we had formed. So two solid drop-in teams were structured out of the people in our group, and that’s how the first-ever After-Hours game was born. It was just 24 guys that believed in our mission statement and chose to join us for a ground-breaking game of drop-in that is already making an impact in the hockey world.
